Connecting with Architects and Designers in the Big Apple

Special thanks to all who made our first time exhibiting at the AIA 2018 Conference on Architecture Expo a success! This expo was held June 21-22 at the Jacob Javits Conference Center in New York City. With the 2018 theme being “Blueprint for Better Cities.”

We received a wonderful welcome from the AIA program management as well as from attendees. Interesting to note, we were the only wood furniture company who participated in this event.

Sauder Worship Seating was represented in the Big Apple by Jeff Kreitz (National Sales Manager) and Kevin Carrier (Regional Sales Representative). Our team exhibited two of our brands, Sauder Courtroom Furniture and Sauder Worship Seating. Attendees of this conference were able to see firsthand and sit in our Courtroom Jury Seat. We also featured a custom designed wood pew. We also were excited to have a sample of a customized pew end that was laser engraved from a project we completed.

  • For those who sat in our Clarity Jury Seat, they were able to experience our quiet, self-correcting swivel chair that provides superior comfort.
  • Many attendees were surprised to find a wooden pew actually comfortable. Our superior comfort comes from using an ergonomically contoured seat.

It was important to showcase both brands for these architects and designers to become familiar with our furniture. It also initiated conversations as attendees stopped by the booth. Our Sauder sales team enjoyed the opportunity to network and hear about all the projects being worked on. Whether it was churches, synagogues or courtrooms. We look forward to staying connected with attendees and working together on future projects.

With more than 800 exhibitors, it was a great opportunity to also see the latest and upcoming trends for the industry. Plus being in the Big Apple, our team enjoyed the chance to take in the NYC skyline, sightsee and taste some of the local favorite foods.

Sauder Worship Seating would like to congratulate Chapel at Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun (NYC) and Bellevue First Congregational (Bellevue, WA) for their awards received during the 2018 AIA Conference. These two deserving recipients had various Sauder Worship furniture used in their projects.

  • Sauder Worship Seating created custom pews and accessories for the Chapel at Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun project.
  • Sauder Worship Seating manufactured Vantage chairs for Bellevue First Congregational.
