Tell us a little about yourself
My wife Yvonne and I celebrated 38 years of marriage this year, and together we have three children and ten grandchildren. Things I look forward to most are traveling with my wife, and our dream vacation would be to tour all of Europe. We enjoy riding motorcycles together, and in 2020 we took one of our best road trips. We spent two weeks, riding in the Pacific Northwest seeing many beautiful and breath-taking scenery views along the way.
How did you get started in the furniture industry?
My furniture career started in the mid-80’s in office furniture dealer sales and management providing furniture solutions to corporate America in local south-eastern PA. My furniture career started in the mid-80’s in office furniture dealer sales and management providing furniture solutions to corporate America in local south-eastern PA. From there the opportunity presented itself to join the Sauder Sales Team in 2001 as an independent sales consultant. Our business, Miller Church Interiors has grown and diversified in the last 5-7 years to include turnkey interior renovations of worship spaces and courtroom spaces of which Sauder Courtroom Furniture is our primary supplier for furniture solutions.
What do you enjoy about your job as a Sales Consultant?
We have blended the “consultant” theme into the fabric of everything we do at Miller Church Interiors. Our business tag line is Provider of Lighting, Flooring, Furniture, Project Management and Consulting on Church Interior Renovations. We moved away from being seen as a sales rep group “selling a product” and rather focus on presenting ourselves in a consultative role, to provide the best solutions for each unique situation. I enjoy being able to listen and document the specific needs of the courts. I then strategize with our staff on creating the best path of recommendations and solutions. This concept works perfect with the Sauder Courtroom Furniture model because they provide such a large variety of furniture product options to meet most any need.
How does Sauder Courtroom Furniture create value for your work?
- The people at Sauder are what bring the most value. Sauder Courtroom Furniture commits to meeting and exceeding customer expectations and deadlines. We live and work in a world of high demands. The Sauder people exemplify the best there is to offer in meeting these demands.
- Sauder’s quality and variety of products are second to none. They lead the industry in innovation because they have a furniture solution to meet any of our customer needs.
- Sauder’s warranty and service commitment are not just in words. Instead, they lead by example to follow through with what they say they will do.
A Memorable Project
We were awarded a complete courtroom restoration and installation project in Hamilton, NJ. The courtroom received upgrades to the judge’s bench area, clerks desk, attorney tables, the witness stand, gallery rail, and public seating benches. We collaborated and designed their courtroom, allowing us to bring their vision to reality. What made this project memorable for me was the appreciation from the customer and judges, including and supporting them through every step, from start to finish..
